It’s quarantine-o’clock, maybe the end of March, maybe mid-May.
My Whatsapp just pinged.
The last of my film gigs fell through.
6 for 6.
My wife is reading away at her Master’s Degree requirements on the couch, my daughter in the next room, immersed in drawing horses.
Life as usual, except everything, needs to change right NOW to keep “normalcy” alive, at least in our household.
To keep afloat is a creative endeavor.
Good thing, improvisation, and creativity are my middle names.
Been a musician for a long time NOW.
I used to be a contemporary dancer as well.
I dabble in filmmaking.
I research, explore, and investigate.
I need to do all of these right NOW to find our new way.
We need SPACE and the means to rebuild our future.
Not a big SPACE, but enough SPACE with all we need SPACE.
An affordable SPACE that meets our environmental ethics code.
We want a SUSTAINABLE FUTURE SPACE NOW.
I am deeply aware of the inherent privilege of even being able to write these words, so, this SPACE needs to be also a SOCIAL COMMITMENT.
If we can make SPACE happen for ourselves, we must be able to fight and provide for others less privileged.
MAKE SPACE FOR OTHERS.
Thus, I embarked on a journey that met all my personal criteria, highlighted above, and, fulfilled my vision of this SPACE-TIME eco-social necessity.
The next day, after some deliberation, we bought a bus.
An old bus to convert into a tiny home.
Not a running bus, but a place to call home soon.
After a little more deliberation, we bought 2 more buses.
Not running buses, but places someone else could call home as well.
Together with Francesco, a long-time friend, and talented architect, we came up with the idea of a small business that could encompass our COMMON GOALS and visions on FAMILY, FUTURE, and our duty and privilege of being able to serve our COMMUNITY and the ENVIRONMENT.
These 340 words are the humble beginnings of a dream that today is named MICRO MACRO COSTA RICA.
Micro space/Macro living.
We strive to be a company in tune with the necessities of our community, both on a social as well as an environmental level.
70% of our construction materials are RECYCLED, REPURPOSED or RECLAIMED
As for the rest, we strive to aim for the most energy-efficient solutions and certified environmentally non-invasive prime material sources.
We employ 100% LOCAL WORKFORCE.
No better time than NOW to get to know our project and our goals.
Join the SPACE CONVERSION TEAM at MICROMACRO COSTA RICA and find the PEACEFUL, PURPOSEFUL, CONSCIENTIOUS, and MINIMALIST way of life you’ve been looking for.
All within your grasp.
464 WORDS to tell you we’re here to STAY and be a POSITIVE FORCE for change in our small community as well as regionally.
